Trainee Advice Session Superviser
Hours: 28 hours per week (spread over 4–5 days)
Contract: 6-month fixed term (with potential for extension)
Location: Diss and Thetford offices, with travel across Norfolk
Salary: £13.68 per hour, rising to £14.07 upon completion of training

Are you passionate about helping people and making a real impact in your community? We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our small, friendly team as an Energy Adviser.
This role is part of our UK Power Networks (UKPN) energy project, which supports clients with energy-related advice and assistance. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, helping them navigate their options and access the support they need.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Engage with clients via phone, email, web chat, and face-to-face appointments
- Use sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand client needs
- Explain the UKPN customer journey, including feedback surveys
- Provide follow-up advice and correspondence (emails, letters, calls)
- Promote schemes like the Priority Services Register and Warm Home Discount
- Conduct benefit checks and identify opportunities for income maximisation
- Refer clients to additional support services and local energy/welfare grants
- Liaise with the energy team and external project partners
- Attend outreach and training sessions across Norfolk
- Maintain accurate records using our case management systems
- Contribute to monthly reports and team meetings
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, case management systems)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Organised, efficient, and able to meet deadlines and KPIs
- Team player with a collaborative approach
- Experience using telephony and digital systems to deliver services
- Ability to support vulnerable clients and follow safeguarding procedure
- Willingness to complete energy advice training within 3 months
Desirable
- Experience in advice or support services
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, or low-carbon technologies
Additional Information
A DBS check will be required for the successful candidate. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from being offered the role.
